THE ANDOVER INN
Originally buillt in the mid-1800s, The Andover Inn has been a Sussex County landmark through the years. William M. Iliff, a notable name in the Andover area, built the Andover in 1856.
The establishment was not particularly successful until it later obtained a liquor license through Oscar Simpson. During these years it was operated as a bar, a boarding house and a working farm. When the Jennings family owned and operated the Inn in later years, a booming restaturant was introduced.
In the fall of 2005, locals remember the owner Jeff Luisi's transformation of the historical Andover Inn to an updated , fully renovated restaturant.
The Iron Mine Grill & Tavern made its debut on November 18, 2005.
In January of 2006, The Andover Inn and the Iron Mine Grill and Tavern were tragically damaged by a devastating fire. Since that time as people passed by they would look at the lonely, stone fireplace and remember what it once was. Once again, The Andover Inn is underway of the entire establishment to better-than-before glory. The new facility will include an 11 room inn, one bedroom apartment, and a restaurant with a liquor licence. Many locals are excited about the re-opening of the New Andover Inn, a luxury hotel, and Jimmy's Italian Tavern.
